"Lavasoft allows creative freedom, and with that also comes responsibility and the opportunity to make a difference. That is one of the things I enjoy the most with this company."

GUI (Graphical User Interface) Developer, Mattias is part of the team that makes the interface of our programs easy to use. He makes sure the front-end and the logic-layers of our programs interact well together as well as creating new custom widgets.

"Like many others from my generation, my first computer contact was with a Commodore c64, but it wasn't really until high school programming caught my interest. A couple of friends and I used to finish our high school programming assignments as fast as we could so that we could waste time coding f/x demos instead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_effect

After 5 years of Computer Science studies at the university, I joined Lavasoft as a consultant. I was only supposed to stay for a few months, but I must have done something right, because I was asked to stay permanently. Being hired by such a well-known company as Lavasoft right out of the academic world was a dream-come-true.

A developer working at Lavasoft has to be very flexible and dynamic in that he/she usually does a little bit of everything if needed. A working day is usually intense, but at the same time, the environment is laid back with lots of laughs and weird ideas. Developers are very much part of every step. The codes we write go out to thousands of people. That knowledge is really rewarding.

"At Lavasoft there is a culture of encouraging new ideas and letting each and every employee be part of the future. That's something that's hard to find in larger organizations."
