Rising Numbers of Haiti Relief Scams

We posted a warning not too long ago on online fraud related to Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Today, there’s new information out on this topic that you should be aware of -

USA Today reports that law enforcement officials have received over 170 complaints of fundraising scams related to Haiti earthquake relief, and more scams via Twitter, Facebook, and other networking sites are expected to follow.

If you’re planning to donate, be sure to have a look at the U.S. FBI’s list of guidelines before you make your donation. USA Today's article also lists a few of the common types of ploys to be aware of.
